Lemon Balm, Melissa officinalis, is a member of the mint family with a gentle lemony fragrance that sets it apart from its more pungent relatives. Native to Southern Europe and the Mediterranean, it has been cultivated and used in herbal practice for over 2,000 years. Appearing in ancient Greek medicine, medieval monastery gardens and modern herbal preparations alike. The leaves carry a light citrus quality that survives drying well.
