Most herbal blends don’t tell you much. A list of ingredients on the back of a bag, maybe a vague description. We wanted to go further than that.
Every herb in a BEC blend is there for a specific reason. Not because it sounded nice or looked good on a label. Because of what it does in the smoke, how it burns, how it draws, how it behaves alongside the other herbs around it.
Before anything goes into a blend we test it. How it burns. How it draws. How it breaks down. What it contributes to the aroma. How it reacts with other herbs. Real people testing real blends, not search engine guesswork.
We ended up with three blends because that’s what people kept reaching for. We cleared everything else and got very good at these three.
How Every Blend Is Built
Each blend is built around three roles. Think of it as architecture.
Base herbs are the foundation. They keep the smoke airy enough to draw evenly and bulky enough to hold the whole mix together. Without a good base the blend falls apart.
Modifier herbs are the balance. They add character and reason to the blend. Some deepen the draw, some lighten it, some add an aromatic quality that gives the blend its identity.
Flavor notes are the finish. Added last, these herbs round out the blend, bring out the best in the modifiers and add the visual detail that makes a well-made blend look as good as it smokes.
The result when it all works: a smoke you actually enjoy. That smells right, burns evenly, draws cleanly and has nothing in it you didn’t ask for.
